YEARS ago when I was working at a bike shop we had a lady buy the top of the line Merlin and put on 4 inch riser bars and platform pedals because if she wasn’t going to own a car then she wanted the best money could buy in a bike… In hindsight I think it was just wrong.

Looks like a pretty typical Trek to me…
I once sold Spinergy’s which were professionally custom painted, and added to a matching, custom painted Huffy full-suspension mountain bike. The original components were re-installed after the paint job was finished.
