RIP, The Group Ride

22 02 2009

Hey everybody, I would like to invite you to check out the new home for the Fort Collins Cycling Scene, Your Group Ride.    I’ve built a completely new site to replace this blog, so shoot over and check it out. I think you’ll find it considerably more informative.  I hope you understand why the updates have been so few and far between lately. I’ll be shutting down the The Group Ride blog and forum soon.

If you have any input or would like to advertise email me at

Thanks for all of your support and enthusiasm.

and for the love of all things holy please forward this email to everyone with a bike!

BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amanda Miller  of Lip Smacker takes the Valley of the Sun road race win and takes over the lead by nearly a min.   I have no details other than what was on the VOS site.  Nice ride Amanda ride safe in the crit.

Sounds like the pro 1 2 mens race got neutralized because of a crash in another race.  It’s all gonna come down to the crit for those guys.

Believe it or not FTC has two racers at the ATOC.   Jon Garcia has been dragging us around all winter and is riding strong.   TIBCO pro Meredeth Miller has touched down in Cali and will be givin’ it hell as well.

On the eve of what could be considered the biggest race of his career Fort Collins pro Jon “the Chatterbox” Garcia was kind enough to send us some shots of his BMCs and other prerace happenings.

Be sure to tune into Versus tomorrow at 3pm for live race coverage.

Team BMC

After a strong cross season Meredth Miller is ready to throw down on the road.orbeas-boulder-cup-068 She and her TIBCO team will be trying to repeat last years win in the ATOC Crit on Sunday.

Valley of the Sun

We also have several riders racing down AZ at the Valley of the Sun Stage Race.   Amanda Miller of Lip Smacker went deep and got second in the opening TT as did rumored future FTC resident and Ciclismo rider Ben Kneller.  In the mens P,1,2 field Sheldon Deeny of Bissell,  Ian Holt of RMCEF Dan Lionberg of Team Rio Grande Racing will be looking for results in Saturdays Road Race and Sundays Crit .

Rachel Knott had a great race in the SW3 s and placed 9th.

We have no less than 10 riders in the valley so check back for results.
